Taking this certification course as part of your worksite wellness training will help you gain an understanding of the role of nutrition on gene expression and the potential for personalized health promotion programs based on genomics. Health Promotion professionals are finally able to put science to the idea that we’re all different and that we respond differently to lifestyle recommendations. We all respond individually to the environment, to diet, to losing weight, and to exercise training. We never really understood the science behind it… Until now! Nutrigenomics is the study of how food affects gene behavior and employees are starting to want to understand themselves. With Dr. Karen Wolfe’s explanation, learn the impact of the genomics revolution on health promotion and how we can customize dietary recommendations, exercise plans, and other behavioral and lifestyle interventions that can help improve overall wellness. Dr. Wolfe will also address the possible implications of this new science for corporate health programs.
